Frequently asked questions
How do I create an account?
Open MysMatch, tap Sign up, and enter your email, password, and basic profile details (name, university, major). You'll verify your phone number via SMS to help keep the community safe.
How does matching work?
MysMatch suggests students based on your university, major, study level, and nearby city. Send a match request — if the other person accepts, you can start chatting.
I didn't receive my SMS verification code.
Check that your phone number is correct and has signal. Wait 60 seconds before requesting a new code. If it still doesn't arrive, email us at contact@mys-match.com with your number and country.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap Forgot password and enter your account email. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
How do I report or block another user?
Open the user's profile or chat, tap the menu icon, and choose Report or Block. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Blocked users can no longer see your profile or contact you.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Your account and data will be permanently removed after a 30-day grace period. You can also request deletion by emailing contact@mys-match.com from your account email.
How do I change my email, university, or profile photo?
Go to Profile → Edit Profile. Most fields can be updated directly. If you need to change your registered email address, contact support.
Can I use MysMatch if my university isn't listed?
We're continually adding universities. If yours is missing, email us at contact@mys-match.com and we'll add it.
How do I stop receiving push notifications?
Disable notifications in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Notifications → MysMatch; Android: Settings → Apps → MysMatch → Notifications). You can also manage preferences inside the app under Settings.
Is MysMatch free?
Yes, MysMatch is free to download and use for core matching and messaging features.
